NAS connections to Exuma, Eleuthera and other islands

Paradise Island is the road exception

Paradise Island has road bridges from New Providence, so its hotels can be reached in the same vehicle from NAS. That does not extend to Exuma, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Abaco, Grand Bahama or other separated islands. The Bahamas is an archipelago; an island hotel name alone does not establish a land route.

A connecting flight may not need a car

If you land at NAS and continue on a domestic flight from the same airport, check airline and baggage instructions before arranging ground transport. An airport car may be unnecessary. Separate tickets, baggage collection and check-in deadlines can change the connection, so verify the itinerary with the carriers.

A boat needs an actual terminal

Ask the operator for the current passenger terminal, sailing date, check-in deadline and baggage rules. Potter’s Cay, the cruise-port waterfront and Palm Cay are different locations. A historic timetable or old travel blog cannot establish that your route operates on your intended date.

Protect the connection with a contingency

Allow for flight delays, arrival processing, road traffic and marine weather. Ask what happens if the sailing is cancelled or the flight arrives too late. The car booking covers only the agreed land segment and cannot guarantee boarding a separate boat or reimburse an independently booked island stay.
