Decide whether you need a hotel transfer or a flight connection
If you are flying into Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) from another Bahamian island and staying in Nassau, the next road journey is from your actual arrival at NAS to the booked accommodation. That is different from arriving internationally and immediately connecting to an island flight. Start by identifying what happens after this landing: a hotel stay, another flight, a boat connection or a separately arranged private-flight handover. The answer determines whether a car is needed and which flight or receiving point belongs on the transport request.
A same-airport connection does not automatically require a car
If the next flight also departs from NAS and you are not leaving for accommodation, check the carriers' connection and baggage instructions before booking road transport. A change of terminal does not by itself establish a need for a hotel transfer. Separate tickets, baggage collection, check-in and airport reporting requirements must be resolved with the airlines handling your itinerary. Do not treat a car quote as confirmation that a flight connection is achievable, protected or supplied with baggage transfer. This guide gives no minimum connection time or instruction to leave the airport during a layover.
Keep the island flight and the Nassau road leg separate
A car waiting at NAS cannot collect you directly from Exuma, Eleuthera, Abaco or another separated island. Confirm that the booked flight actually brings you to NAS before arranging the Nassau hotel journey. If the flight changes to another airport, send the new itinerary and ask for revised instructions instead of assuming the car moves automatically. Paradise Island is the road-connected exception: its hotels can be reached over the bridges from New Providence, subject to the accepted route and receiving arrangements. Another island's hotel or airport is not a substitute Nassau pickup address.
Identify the flight that actually arrives in Nassau
Send the operating airline, flight number, origin airport and Nassau local arrival date for the domestic leg ending at NAS. For example, if you previously arrived internationally, spent several nights on another island and now return to Nassau, the earlier international flight is not the flight the pickup should be planned around. An island name alone may also be too broad to identify the origin. Use the flight confirmation's actual airports and local dates, then update the responsible transport provider if those details change. A message sent with new information is still a request until the revised arrangement is accepted.
Use the current airport information for the arrival area
LPIA's official terminal map groups domestic arrivals with the international and domestic departure facilities, separately from the international arrivals facility. Its passenger information also identifies pickup and drop-off areas at domestic and international terminals. These airport descriptions help distinguish the journey, but they do not identify your particular driver's position. Ask the provider to issue meeting directions for the actual arriving flight. Do not copy a terminal letter, door, parking instruction or landmark from an unrelated transfer voucher or assume that a desk described for international arrivals is your domestic meeting point.
Clarify any private-flight or FBO arrangement
If the flight operator or confirmation names an FBO or a separate handling facility, confirm that location explicitly with the operator and transport provider. Do not assume that every charter uses an FBO or that every domestic flight follows the same public-terminal handover. The actual flight and handling instructions determine the request. An airport code or an airline name alone is not permission for a driver to enter a restricted area. Resolve any mismatch between the flight confirmation and pickup directions before relying on them, rather than changing terminals in search of an unconfirmed vehicle.
Agree the domestic-arrival handover and exact hotel route
Obtain written meeting instructions, the contact procedure and the agreed waiting terms before travel. After landing, follow the applicable airline and airport instructions, collect any luggage you are required to reclaim and tell the responsible provider about a problem that changes your readiness. Landing time does not automatically mean the party is ready for a car, and a domestic arrival is not a promise of a particular processing time. Use the meeting point accepted for this flight and verify the representative against the booking details. Keep the confirmation accessible offline.
Name the hotel and check the transport already arranged
Give the full property and receiving entrance, not just Atlantis, Baha Mar or a beach name. Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, SLS Baha Mar and Rosewood Baha Mar are distinct hotel destinations, and an Atlantis booking needs the actual property or tower. Ask whether any hotel transport already included in your arrangements covers this domestic flight and where that service expects to meet you. An earlier international pickup or a room booking does not establish this journey. Avoid duplicate requests once an included or separately booked service has been explicitly confirmed.
Use a short request with the details that affect the car
A useful message is: I arrive at NAS on [operating airline and flight] from [origin airport] on [Nassau local date and time]. I am staying at [hotel or residence and exact entrance]. We are [passengers] with [luggage and special requirements]. Please confirm the arrival-area meeting instructions, contact procedure, suitable vehicle, total fare and waiting terms. Repeat any child-seat or accessibility requirements rather than assuming they carry over from an earlier booking. Standard planning capacity is three passengers and VIP four, both subject to luggage; larger parties or special arrangements require a custom quote. Retain written acceptance before treating the road journey as reserved.
Domestic-arrival transfer questions at NAS
Can I use the meeting instructions from my previous international arrival?
Only if the responsible provider confirms that they apply to the new flight. Domestic and international arrival arrangements can differ. Send the actual incoming flight and obtain the accepted meeting directions before moving to another terminal.
Do I need a car when connecting between flights at NAS?
Not necessarily. Check the actual airline and baggage instructions before arranging road transport. A same-airport connection without a hotel visit does not automatically need a car, and this guide does not confirm connection time or eligibility to leave the airport.
Does my earlier airport transfer include pickup after my island stay?
Do not assume it does. Confirm the separate domestic flight, Nassau local date, meeting point, passengers, luggage, destination and accepted fare. A previous journey or hotel reservation does not establish another pickup.
