Where to wait after hotel checkout
A late flight does not automatically extend your room booking. Start with the front desk or host: confirm the actual checkout time, whether you may remain on the property, and where your group can wait. Keep room access, luggage storage, changing facilities and meals separate in the conversation. Paying for one does not establish entitlement to the others. For a private rental, ask about key return and access after checkout rather than assuming that a reception desk will receive your bags.
Hotel luggage storage or late checkout?
British Colonial Nassau publishes luggage storage for its guests before check-in and after checkout. Atlantis describes bellman storage and in-transit facilities for guests with early arrivals or late departures. These are property-specific statements, not benefits supplied by NAS Airport Transfer or promises for non-guests. Confirm the arrangements attached to your own stay. A late checkout request still needs hotel approval; ask whether a luggage-only alternative is available if keeping the room cannot be confirmed.
A day pass is a separate arrangement
Before buying a day pass or day room, confirm entry, changing facilities, luggage acceptance and the latest collection time. A pool ticket is not proof that suitcases can be stored, and a restaurant reservation does not extend access to your former room. If you leave bags at your original hotel, your plan must return there to collect them unless another handover is expressly agreed. Keep any outing within a realistic New Providence or road-connected Paradise Island itinerary.
Confirm where your bags will stay and when to collect them
Record the storage location, who accepts the bags, permitted collection hours, charges and any size restrictions. Keep the receipt or collection reference and allow time for staff to retrieve the luggage. Medication, travel documents and essentials should remain accessible. If several people leave bags in different rooms or buildings, agree one collection plan before confirming the vehicle meeting point.
Can you rely on storage at NAS?
Published airport information is inconsistent. LPIA's FAQ says luggage storage is not currently available, while its Travel & Luggage Centre service page lists luggage storage near Domestic/International Check-in. The centre's own website also advertises storage. These statements do not confirm service for your date. Contact the centre and airport directly to check present operation, bag acceptance, fees, access and the collection deadline before building a journey around it. Do not assume there are unattended lockers or overnight access.
Early bag drop depends on your airline
Ask your operating airline whether it will accept checked bags at your intended time and where its counter is located. Online check-in does not by itself mean that a physical bag can be handed over hours early. An extra airport visit to try an unconfirmed bag drop adds another road journey. If acceptance cannot be confirmed, retain a workable hotel or accommodation-based plan instead.
Work backwards from the flight to your actual pickup
Begin with your airline's current airport reporting requirement, then add the road journey and a suitable traffic margin. Before that, allow for collecting stored bags, any return to the hotel, changing clothes and loading the vehicle. U.S.-bound departures involve preclearance at NAS; a private car does not remove airport processing. Use Nassau local dates and times, not the time zone of the person making the enquiry. Reconfirm pickup arrangements if the flight changes rather than assuming a later departure automatically changes the driver assignment.
A planning example, not a promised timetable
Suppose your flight leaves at 18:00 and your airline requires you at NAS at 15:00. If you allow an illustrative hour for driving and traffic, the vehicle would leave the agreed pickup point at 14:00. If retrieving and loading your hotel-stored bags needs another illustrative 30 minutes, return to the hotel by 13:30. Replace every allowance with information appropriate to your route and confirmed arrangements. This example is not a recommended schedule for every Nassau hotel or airline.
Request the right journey from your hotel to NAS
Send the departure flight, local date, exact hotel or permitted pickup address, passenger count and all luggage, including purchases made during the stay. Identify any child-seat or mobility requirement. Our Standard calculator covers up to three passengers and VIP up to four, both subject to luggage; larger groups need an individual vehicle quote. A request on this website does not reserve a car or collect payment. The written confirmation must identify the provider, complete fare, vehicle and pickup instructions.
Direct pickup or an agreed additional stop?
If you and your bags are ready at the same hotel entrance, request that direct road journey. If you want pickup elsewhere followed by hotel luggage collection, describe both addresses and the time needed at each. Ask for the extra stop, waiting allowance and full charge in writing. Do not expect a direct-transfer estimate to include sightseeing, an all-day vehicle or the driver storing unattended luggage while you go out. These arrangements require explicit provider agreement and may not be available.
Your final departure-day checklist
Before leaving your room, confirm where the bags will be held, when you must collect them, which lobby or gate the vehicle will use and how to reach the actual provider. Keep your flight details and confirmation available offline. If your room package already includes airport transport, check that arrangement before requesting a second service. Make sure everyone understands the agreed pickup time and has collected their belongings before the car is due to depart.
Late-flight questions
Can I store luggage at Nassau Airport before a late flight?
The airport's published storage information conflicts. Confirm current operation, access, fees and bag-collection deadlines directly with the airport and the named service before relying on it. Airline bag drop is a separate arrangement.
Can the driver keep my bags while I go out?
Do not assume that luggage storage or an all-day waiting vehicle is included in a point-to-point airport transfer. Ask the actual provider for explicit written confirmation of any additional arrangement; availability is not promised.
Ready to plan the airport journey? Choose Departure on the enquiry form and send your flight, hotel, passengers, bags and any proposed extra stop. The team must confirm the complete arrangement in writing.

Research checked on 20 October 2026 against LPIA's FAQs and Travel & Luggage Centre listing, the centre's own service information, and the official Atlantis and British Colonial hotel FAQs. The airport's storage statements conflict; no live storage availability or trip-specific hotel benefit has been confirmed. Recheck arrangements directly before relying on them.
