Global Entry Interview at Nassau Airport: Plan Your U.S. Departure

An interview request, programme approval and a hotel-to-airport car are separate arrangements. Prepare for the U.S.-bound journey from Nassau and protect your airport reporting time.

Confirm your application status and the correct journey

Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), also known as LPIA, publishes a Global Entry interview option for conditionally approved applicants during U.S. preclearance. The journey discussed here is your departure from Nassau on a U.S.-bound flight. It is not a general appointment offered simply because you have landed in the Bahamas from the United States. Before building the interview into your departure plans, check your actual application status and the current official instructions for the programme and location.

Conditional approval and membership are different

An application submitted, an application conditionally approved and a completed membership are different stages. Check what your official Trusted Traveler Programs account actually says rather than assuming that an application payment or a travel companion's membership establishes your own status. Use the current CBP instructions for your individual requirements and documents. This guide does not provide a nationality eligibility table, fee schedule or substitute document list. The language in which you read this page does not determine eligibility. A transport provider cannot approve a programme application or turn a pending status into an accepted interview.

Understand why the interview can happen before the U.S. flight

Enrollment on Arrival can involve U.S. preclearance before a traveller boards the flight to the United States. At Nassau, that places the published interview opportunity within the U.S.-bound departure process. Keep that direction of travel clear when checking instructions: arriving at NAS for your Bahamas stay and returning to NAS for a U.S. flight are different airport journeys. Do not assume that a domestic island connection or a flight to another country follows this process. Verify that the option you intend to use applies to the actual itinerary and your current status.

Understand the published interview option at NAS

LPIA's guidance describes requesting a Global Entry interview in the U.S. Customs preclearance hall after security and makes the interview dependent on an available CBP officer. Follow current airport signage and the instructions of the responsible staff and officers. Published programme information does not confirm a particular interview slot for you. A hotel concierge, private-car booking or airport transfer estimate does not reserve that officer's time or establish access to the processing area outside your actual flight arrangements.

Requesting an interview does not reserve one

An intended request is not a scheduled appointment or a promise that an interview will be completed that day. Keep the information and documents required by the official programme accessible and follow the current directions for asking about the opportunity. Do not plan the rest of the departure around a fixed interview duration, immediate approval or a guaranteed shorter queue. If the opportunity is unavailable, use the responsible programme's instructions for your next steps. Your airline's check-in and boarding requirements still apply; an intended interview does not extend them.

Keep Global Entry, MPC and security screening distinct

Using an existing Global Entry membership is different from completing an application interview. Mobile Passport Control (MPC) and airport security screening also have their own purposes and instructions. Do not treat an app download, another traveller's experience or a familiar programme name as evidence that your interview is approved or your entire departure will be quicker. Check the relevant official service for the process you actually intend to use. Neither a programme membership nor a possible interview is a reason to remove the airport reporting margin from the road-transfer plan.

Work backwards to the hotel pickup

LPIA's interview guidance recommends arriving at least three hours before departure to allow for security, U.S. processing and the interview. Check the current airport and operating-airline instructions for your flight, and allow for any more demanding requirement. That airport arrival target is separate from the drive, loading and road buffer. Three hours is not a guarantee that an interview will take place or that every part of the departure will fit a particular schedule. Do not subtract an assumed queue saving when deciding when to leave the accommodation.

Confirm the car independently of the interview request

Give the road provider the departing flight, Nassau local date, exact accommodation entrance, passengers and luggage. Explain that you intend to ask about a Global Entry interview during preclearance and want to plan the airport arrival accordingly. A request could read: We depart NAS on [operating flight and local date] from [exact accommodation]. We have [passengers and bags] and intend to request a Global Entry interview during preclearance. Please assess a pickup that meets the current airport and airline reporting instructions, including loading and road time, and confirm availability, complete fare, meeting point and waiting terms. The provider confirms the road journey, not the interview.

Prepare an early departure and reconfirm changes

For an early flight, agree the local pickup date and time, the actual lobby or permitted gate, the receiving contact and any relevant out-of-hours terms before setting the alarm. Arrange checkout and key return with the property so passengers and luggage can be ready for the accepted departure. If the flight, accommodation or party changes, ask the road provider to reconfirm the journey and recheck the official airport plan. A successful arrival transfer does not automatically reserve the return car. Keep the latest transport confirmation available offline and retain the programme records for the responsible official process rather than placing account credentials in general booking notes.

Global Entry interview and Nassau Airport pickup questions

Is this an interview after landing in Nassau from the United States?

The option described here concerns U.S. preclearance on the U.S.-bound departure from Nassau. It is not a general interview appointment available simply because you have arrived in the Bahamas. Check the current programme and airport instructions for your actual journey and status.

Can I choose a later hotel pickup because I expect Global Entry to save time?

Do not subtract an assumed queue saving from the airport reporting requirement. An interview request is subject to availability and does not extend airline deadlines. Plan the airport arrival with the current official and airline instructions, then add loading, the road journey and a buffer.

Use the return-transfer guide to prepare your flight, airport arrival target, accommodation pickup point, passengers and luggage. Our operations will start in January 2027; booking and WhatsApp contact are currently paused. For an existing car reservation, contact the responsible provider directly. Programme and interview questions belong with the official services responsible for them.
